Idaho Court Records
The Idaho State Courts website provides the public with an overview of the legal system in the State of Idaho, encompassing its two trial courts and two appellate courts, which collectively oversee statewide administration of justice.
This resource presents information about the types of cases each court can handle. The lMagistrate Divisions are trial courts of limited authority, while the District Courts are the primary trial courts of general jurisdiction. The Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court handle appellate matters from the lower courts.
Further, the website outlines the procedures for requesting/accessing, reviewing/copying, or purchasing court case records from the various official custodians, as well as general access restrictions on specific case documents, as established by Idaho Court Administrative Rules and the state's Public Records Act. This guide is intended for general reference purposes and should not be construed as official records or legal advice.
